Planets of the Solar System - The current definition has 8 planets in our solar system. These planets are usually divided into the inner planets; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and then the asteroid belt. Beyond the asteroid belt we find the outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. There are many other objects in our solar system including dozens of moons, asteroids and the comets which reside beyond the orbit of Pluto.
